What ground does a porta potty need?
A porta potty needs a flat, firm spot about 4 by 4 feet. A driveway edge, a gravel pad, a patio or level, dry lawn all work. Avoid slopes steeper than a gentle grade, soft mud, septic drain fields and sprinkler heads. An uneven base rocks the unit and loosens the door latch.
How close must the service truck get?
The service truck must park within about 30 feet of the unit, because the pump hose reaches about that far. Units tucked behind a house, down a slope or past a narrow gate may get delivered but cannot be cleaned. Pick a spot the truck can reach on a regular route day.
Long rentals include weekly cleaning. See job-site rentals.
Which way should the door face?
The door should face away from the prevailing wind and toward the path people walk. In central Nebraska, that usually means facing south or east. Wind against the door makes it slam and can tip an empty unit. On open ground, we stake or strap units.
How do I mark the spot for the driver?
Mark the spot with a flag, a lath stake, spray paint or a photo sent when you book. Add a pin drop for rural sites. Tell us about gate codes, low wires and dogs. A clearly marked spot lets the driver set the unit without calling you.
